I LOVE DTR!!

Well, well, well... who would have thought!  I picked up a copy of Dirt Track
Racing on a lark and it's a barrel of fun.  Is it GPL?  Hardly.  But it doesn't
need to be.  Just a great little dirt track racing game.  Been playing it like
crazy.  Nothing like a little Saturday night Bullring fight to get your
ya--ya's out.

You would be amazed at the number of people who are still DTR zealots,
even after the newness has worn off.  You just don't hear much about it
here because most GPLers don't understand the concept that "dirt is for
racing, asphalt is for getting there." <G> Since the GPL and DTR crowds
don't mix very well, the DTR crowd mostly hangs out on their own
dedicated news servers these days.

Trust me, DTR has a HUGE, dedicated following -- and if you don't have
it already, Best Buy has it on sale for $9.99 this weeekend (as if
$19.99 wasn't ENOUGH of a bargain already!).

I'm still playing DTR like a mental patient. Online racing is the best part
of the game, and what makes people keep coming back for more... I mean the
racing varies in quality, but it is always interesting.
Just my thoughts... I like it more than GPL... It achieves it's goal of
allowing close and fun competition, without the need to complete so sort of
intense training regime.
