Since then, nada, can't even get close, the supercops - who reverse and
go forward faster than lightning - get me everytime. I swear, I like
this game but I've never come this close to snapping a Cd in half in
frustration. Can't seem to find any cheat code either, and I cannot
stand the thought of playing "the briefcase" (or one of the alternative
missons) once more time. Till then, most mission were a snap, so I
don't get it. I've turned down the cops from med to easy, seems tro
make 0 difference...Please help in any way you can (tips, cheats)...
Can't need more practice, I ain't gonna get better after 15 hours on

But then again I got stuck a few missions further up the road, the TAXI
mission, you get 1 min to scare the ***out of this guy, no effing way
am I able to do that, and the alternative mission, "The Crate", keeps
locking up on me, I'll hve to try a reinstall tonight.........

Still, a very enjoyable game, but then again I always liked the movie as
well, awesome driving scenes in that one :-)

Everybody seems to get stuck someplace in this game... I managed the
'scare' mission (seems as if every move just gives scare points once:
do one kick-down 360, and is his scared; do another one, and he isn't
scared more. I found that running one-way streets the wrong way helps,
as well as hitting a few vehicles.) I am stuck at a different mission
further down. Unfortunately, it's one of the missions you have to do,
there's another mission you have to complete first after loaduing the
game, and it's a two-part mission without a break between the two
parts. Even if you manage the first part and***up in the second
half, you have to do the first half all over again before you can try
the second part again. This does get annoying...

It was on here the other night, but I missed the Mercedes destruction
scene in the garage. Dang! But the final chase with the young guy in
the Camaro is just great, isn't it? You can see that they did not
drive at 25mph, as is often the case with cheap car chases, but really
abused the cars. And the whole thing is also perfect from a cinematic
point of view.

Anyway, I promised a hint: some kind soul posted the following listing
of missions here the other day. Just load the relevant *.dms file into
notepad and change parameters for cops, countdown and player damage as
needed. You could also try to find a mission editor to do this.
Unfortunately, the demo mission editor I had did strange things to the
missions. Making changes by hand is more reliable IMHO.

I'm stuck somewhere in LA in the third part of a 3-part mission (and don't
know yet, if that's all...) and have to complete 2 missions before I get

Search using your favorite Usenet search engine for the title "Driver
(PC) Mission List ( long )".  If you can't find it let me know and
I'll send it to you.  It has saved my sanity on a couple missions so
far!  Usually I'm at the desperation point where I just go it and turn
off the cops for the problem mission.

I just looked at the post, and it looks like the mission files you're
looking for are:

Thanks guys ! That did it... Took me back to scaring the guy (which I
suceeded in doinf last time but cannot seem to do again)  ;-)  I'll do
360s like someone suggested. Is it me or could this game benefit from
having a difficulty setting that really works ?!!!  Man, you'd think a
pro "driver" would have a car that at the very least is not half as
fast as the cops (sometimes they cathc me up in a straigh line like
hey're on nitro) !!   Thansk again !
