What causes my steering wheel and pedals to suddenly reverse assignment?
I qualified one day, went to the garage, and started to head back out for
the rest of the session and my brake pedal was the accelerator, and when I
turned right, the car went left !!!! What's up? Also, it seems that EVERY
time I try to do a replay, I get a F1VOO.EXE exception crash and dumps out
of the game. I've got the 1.07 patch on.

Pirated? I was one of the first in the USA to buy mine from InteractCD on
the internet........I got it way back in November.....It's the imported UK
version. I highly doubt it's a pirated copy......I've got all documentation
and registration has been filled out. It seems I've heard someone mention
these but I didn't hear anything about a "pirated" version.

I've heard it's a known bug in the pirated version of this game.  If
that's the case I suggest you go out and buy it, it's a real good sim
and the authors deserve to be rewarded for their efforts.

The F1RS demo on this month's copy of BOOT magazine CD-ROM has the same
problem and that certainly isn't pirated.

Pirated , thats bullshit, i've had  the game since it came out here in the
UK and over the last 2 weeks or so i too have experianced the same problem
with all the controls reversing themselves.

I've got the same problem: steering wheel being reversed after visiting
garage, and I have the original game too. Its the only software I actually
pay for: racing sims!!!!
However I use the NO CDrom patch. Why? Because the game really sucks without
this patch: the menu's take a lifetime to load, and the game crashes
sometimes. (its called: bad programming...)

It seems that the no-cd patch might cause this problem.....
But they're working on a new version.

I'm sorry, I wasn't accusing you, I was merely reporting what I had
heard...  If that info is incorrect (as it seems to be the case)
please ignore my previous post and I hope you'll soon get a fix for
your problem.

I have the original, and the same happens.

also has major bugs in the network game.

can't load settings for example, collission detection is about a car length
out if one is going 100mph more than the other.
you only notice this with 2 screens side by side.

but apparently UBISOFT won't do anything about it because of the FIA
Licence aggreement.
they don't want the network play to be too good for some strange reason.

Andy.

If I understand you correctly, then I have the same problem also.  I
have a Thrustmaster GP2 racing wheel, and the accelerate and brake
"pedals" get reversed after 1 race (either finishing the race or
abondoning it).  I have to exit the game in order to get it set again.
Changing the assignments in the configure/control area doesn't do
anything.

I am running F1RS with patch 1.05 (never installed 1.07).

The problem occured right after installing the "nocd" patch.  I've had
the game for over 2 months and never had the problem until the "nocd"
patch was applied.

I haven't tried the replay, so I dont know if I get the exact same
problem as you - will check it out though.

Maybe someone can confirm that this patch does indeed create the
problem?

Marc.

With the full 197MB installation the menus are a lot faster than in the
medium installation. Will the menus be even faster with the nocd patch?
Doesnt seem likely to me.

What's this stupid FIA agreement. What do these arseholes think
their doing? I hear similar things about Nascar having exclusive
privalige for multiplayer with Papy too. If that stuffs up GPL/ICR3 I'm
breaking out the nukes :)
