ICR: more Q's from a rookie

  Hi All,

Thanks for the answers to my questions a while back.  They helped alot.

In summary: you can't play ICR with the keyboard.  I got a joystick and
my times went way down.  Of course, you all know this but in case there are
other dummies out there like me...  The keyboard steering works like a
switch - either full to lock or straight ahead - makes for alot of squealing
  tires.

Anyway, I have another Q or 2 if you have the patience:

  - It seems that the out-of-the-box setup files are a little rough.  On some
tracks I get a time that beats the posted track record, then the next track
I am off by 10mph. Have others noticed this inconsistency or is it me?

  - At the same tracks where I am way off the pace, (I went from the pole at
Michigan and New Hampshire to near last at Nazereth) the qualifying times
that the front runners get cannot be correct judging by how much faster I am
when the race starts.  Anyone else notice this?  After reading the faq and
a readme from the FTP site I am guessing that I can fix this by messing with
  DRIVERS.TXT or TRACK.TXT. Correct?

  - I guess that it is hard to write a program where the computer-driven cars
are very good.  It seems that the algorithm for when another driver will
yield to the player isnt too hot.  I have also been run over from behind.
  Anyone else notice this?

  Thanks for reading.

Thought I should clear up one point in my post.

                                     ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I mean the one posted by the program on the raceday startup screen.
Definately not the net list.  I dont know how the heck people are able to
get those times. I am still trying to race without running into Mike Groff.
