Steering help!!!

by Greg Hick » Sun, 08 Sep 1996 04:00:00

OK, I have a Quickshot AeroACE5 flight controller, and I bought the CH
Pedals. My question is that I seem to be REALLY loose with this steering
wheel (I realize it is more a flight yoke then steering wheel, so please
keep the flames to yourself) I was just curious if the steering wheels
(T2, CH Flightstick, etc.) have more rotational room. I.E. Do they turn
further, thereby giving more driving sensitivity? This wheel I have it
seems I can just barely start to feel the tension when turning it off
center when my car starts to spin out from under me. Thanks for the
help. Might just be my crappy driving or setups tho! (;

Yes, from my experience, the flight yokes tend to have about 90 degrees
or less of turn, and the T2 has about 270 degrees...
Much more realistic.

Greg,

Try  both linear and non-linear steering with various values of wheel
lock.   As an example, try 5 degrees wheel lock with linear steering
or 15 degrees wheel lock with non-linear steering. i.e. if  non-linear
feels dead in the middle but linear is too twitchy, then try
non-linear with more wheel lock.
