GP4 (In full3D) honest!! Amazing..

I received my copy of GP4 after 2 weeks of heavy F12002 play.
So Crammond was on the backfoot before he came out of the box!!

Well, after a weekend of tweaking, playing, bombing, tweaking,
playing, crashing.. you get the idea.. I got a good compromise, and I
liked it... Different and heavy but OK..

On Monday I took delivery of my edimensional 3d specs.. (IR version)
Spent all evening fiddling loading, setting up etc..

WOW!!!!!! this looks good, I thought

So rub of hands, GP4 here we come.....
Bearing in mind this game is a processor hog and 3d basically needs to
double your image production I was expecting a 3d slide show...

WRONG!!

Fan-***y-tastic
Was this game coded with 3d in mind? It is the Mutz Nutz in 3D.
I am in awe of the representation produced by these "geeky" looking
glasses... I must look a complete idiot, MOMO in hand and "Roy
Orbison" specs on.

After some initial issues, ie the***pit was in full depth, s\wheel
***pit and wheels all in layered 3d, but the track still looked 2d. I
managed to adjust and change my view so the cars, track and all the
overheads, countdown markers etc were in full 3d.....AMAZING

Monaco is just awesome... speeding up the hill twds *** Square is
just the most amazing sensation of speed and reality I have ever
experienced... complete immersion...

I have been coming up behind other cars and been staring in amazement
that the car is actually in full 3d on a track with depth and detail!!

I could go on and on and on... Smoke and dust, actually drive "through
it"!!! the kerbs now "look" raised, the countdown marker boards have
full depth, I actually drive "under" the bridges, the pit crew are all
3D'd..

The only drawback is in order to appreciate the full 3d experience I
have had to opt for the nose cone view to drive. (No***pit( )But the
sense of speed, yes speed in GP4! is tripled with specs on. The
overlay banners do not affect PO which with 30 FPS sits comfortably on
80-110%

Threads about 3d specs are mixed in their view about how good they
are. So the perception is a personal one.

I am a 41 year old "closet" gamer. I do not work for edimensional, nor
am I on commission.!! I just want to share my enthusiasm for a new way
of immersion into the world of sim racing...

By the way, I have tested over 20 games in 3d now and have to say,
many are very very good.. Obviously, racing,, flying and FPSer's lend
themselves ideally to 3D... I don't want to go off topic, but Ghost
Recon is another amazing game in 3D....

F12002 is also very good, but the bolder graphics of GP4 lend
themselves to better 3d imagery..

One happy 3D Gamer

They wont look any different to any other GP4 screenshot - the stereo effect
is caused by flicking from frame to frame

once you see the screenshots
you will immediately reach out
for your old GP2 cdrom

no kidding
I have both games

the same music, the same shit menu
there is however a full race replay
but they don't have the     REPLAY word
in the entire game.

go figure
you will have to dig deep and hard
just to find , kinda of game on its own
( 2 games for the price of one )

Why is this? I find it looks good from the***pit too. Just use control-F5
the first time so the***pit does not try to be drawn in front of the
monitor (control-F6 to move the other way). When you're happy, save settings
with control-F7.
Btw the 3D effect from the helmet view is even better. The higher point of
view gives better perspective.

Wow, you make me regret buying that new LCD screen sitting in front of me.
Maybe I'll have to get me one of these specs and dig up my old CRT screen.

For another E-dimensional treat, try Rally Trophy in bumper/nose cam mode
(the perspective in***pit mode is just too exaggerated). With the right
convergence settings, you'll have the monitor act as your windscreen, with
the beautiful Nordic landscape coming at'ya in 3D with an alarming sense of
speed!

(And oh yes, turn off all effects detail in the setup to get rid of the
buggy car shadow. You won't see the smoke or dirt on your car whilst
sitting in it anyway... :)

SimRacingWorld, the Falcon 4 community, SIMHQ.com, Flightsim.com,  and 3D
*** World.

For $69.95 (wired) or $99.95 (wireless), you can't hardly go wrong.  I'll
