rec.autos.simulators

Well, now that I've got the game running again, and I bought the
microphone headset that other people told me about...

I plug the mic into the mic receptor and plug the headset into the
headset receptor on my modem card, but when I call my buddy the sound
still comes from the little speaker on the modem card.  He doesn't
have the headset yet...all I wanted to do was see if I could hear his
answering machine over the headphones...it didn't work.  Do I need to
do anything different?  Or will I have to wait until he gets his
headset?

  I need some background, which modem do you have(sorry if you already
told us..)
  If it is a USR DSVD modem, then the ports in back don't function.  You
both have to have the same modem and you'll need a headset/microphone that
plugs into your phone, not the modem.  [they are inessence telephones
themselves and cost from 40 to a 150 bucks.]
