If ever there was a racing game that screamed "I'M A CONSOLE PORT" its
this piece of crap. I checked three times to be sure I had it in
simulation mode. The <cough cough> physics of the game do give Mario
Cart a good run for the money, but thats about it. Seems that the turn
rate of your car is inversly proportional to the speed of your car, and
thats about the extent of it. At 130+ MPH you can yank your controller
left and right with no fear of losing controll, and as with all cheap
console racers, you are artificially restrained from travelling more than
2 feet off of the pre defined path. even when there is a clear path you
get that invisable wall thing.
There is also NO SUPPORT for using a throttle (be it on a joystick or in
peddals).
I personally dont find NFS very challenging, but it models car handling a
factor of ten times better that TD5, and it was fun.
Thank god it only took me 50 seconds to download. I feel sorry for poor
souls who spend hours downloading the ***demo.
