Is the Lotus engine made of glass ??

Hello GPL fans !

I've been playing this game for about one month now and I've yet to win a
pro race since the Lotus engine keeps blowing up on me.

There is no problem winning in novice mode or intermediate short mode but it
seems that in longer races, the engine will not last.  I've watched replays
of some of you ( "gulp", some of you are faaaast )and I seem to be shifting
at the same RPM or even lower.  I can run consistently in the 1:29's , my
best time at Monza being 1:29:22, but the engine always ends up blowing in
longer races. ( I even lift my foot off the gas before shifting )

If any one of you can offer some advice that will increase the reliability
of the Lotus without compromising its fantastic performance too much, I
would be gratefull.

Thanks and happy racing.

"Now I'm off the internet to go watch the real thing on TV ( 8:54pm here in
Hull, Qubec), go Jacques go.  Yahoo !

All I can say is to shift at a little lower RPM and make sure that it doesnt
go higher than where you shift at when you shift, dont let it just over rev
or go a little high, it will help.  Also the lotus is the second most
unreliable car (eagle is number one).  It is fast yet unreliable in those
longer races which is why some people use the other cars like the brabham,
ferrari or any others.  I wouldnt be able to tell what is wrong with the
continueous blowups unless I saw a replay.

Lucky duck...I've gotta wait untill 11:00 Sunday morning...do you have
any idea how HARD it is to avoid any F1 related news in Indianapolis?
Especially if you watch ANYTHING (especially races) on ESPN.  Guess it's
time to block off the ticker at the bottom of my TV screen again...

I went to the Friday practice session. The cars are loud, fast, and you can
feel them go by!
