Driver+SidewinderFF Wheel. Help!!

by Stephe » Sat, 13 May 2000 04:00:00

Hi all I just got Driver, I know I`m a bit late gettin it but I`m having
major probs getting my Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel to work with the
game. I have followed all instructions but cant get the profiles to work in
the game. Could someone tell me where I can get to a good FAQ on this or has
anyone else had similar probs and resolved them? I`m running Win98, if thats
any help. Please help cause it`s a fun game and I`d like to have my
wheel/brakes just so.
Thanks in advance for any help,  Stephen.

I have the MSFF wheel/pedals and Driver as well.  It is nearly impossible to
modulate your pedals in this game.  Since it was designed for consoles
(controllers with just buttons) the gas and brake seem to be either on or
off.

Thanks forthat Daxe,
Could you tell me if you can sucessfully use a
profile with Driver, even without being able to modulate the pedals I would
still like to be able to change the amount os movement in the wheel etc. and
the only way I can see is to use the settings part of the Profile Editor.
(Unless you know another way?) So any help in using a profile for Driver
would be greatly welcome. If you do use a profile for the game could you
possibly mail it to me? At least then I could eliminate error on my part.
Thanks again,    Stephen

Driver+SidewinderFF Wheel. Help!!

Just so you know, the idiots who programmed this game never intended that it
would be used with a steering wheel. Lots more problems too.

Hear that whistling sound?

It's wind through their ears.

I bought this game for PSX and returned it the next morning.

I don't have the game or wheel, but you might try RBJoy. It has button
assignments and wheel assignments as buttons with variable response. Could
be just what you need. You can get it at Tweaks & Reviews and some other
sites. It's free so give it a shot   ;-)

Thanks Andrew,
It seems pretty damn stupid to program a driving
game without considering steering wheels!!!! Anyway thanks all,     Stephen
