rec.autos.simulators

The game runs, but it will not allow me to assign actions for my wheel.
When I click on steering, brakes, or accelerator it will not leave the
window open, so I can assign controls. (It did allow me once, after first
install, but never again.  I even uninstalled, and reinstalled).  The only
thing I can assign is up shift, down shift, and view.  When I enter a game,
it runs full throttle, and NO BRAKES!  I have the wheel calibrated in
Pro-panel, and in the game.  Even when I set controls to default, everything
works, except gas, and brakes.  I am using a Nascar Pro wheel that works
fine in ALL other sims, i.e. NASCAR3, and NL.  I have all the latest
drivers, and Dx7 beta installed.

System:
Win95b
200mmx
64 mb
3dfx Voodoo 2 1000
SB sound card (32 awe)

I had a similiar problem with DTR. When I would start up the game and
enter a race, I was stuck on full throttle, no steering, and no brakes.
It worked fine at first.
The only solution I found (and it works every time) is to open the game
controller control panel and click on properties, then go back and
click on advanced and then click ok. Now when I enter DTR everything
works (although occasionaly I have to reasign the the controls.
Not sure why this works, but it does.
I have no problems with games like N3 and SCGT. This only happens with
DTR.

btw, Im using dx7.

My system
c433, v3 2000, 128 meg, mx300, Act Labs Force RS + shifter.

Before you buy.

I could never even get my T2 to be recognized, let alone calibrate
or use it. I tried everything, kept getting "not connected"...
I tried everything shy of throwing the whole deal out the door.

Went to the Microsoft page, downloaded the 7a patch, and everything
works fine.
