SCANNING GRAPHICS FOR NASCAR

I just got a HP 4p scanner and it came with "COREL-PHOTO PAINT"
software.I also have paint shop pro and neopaint.Can someone please
give me information on how to convert scanned photos in to graphics for
use on nascar pcx files without losing a lot of detail once you apply
them to the car?Fell free to e-mail me  or just post a follow up.Thanks
