THANK YOU Thrustmaster

A couple of weeks ago I contacted Thrustmaster regarding a calibration
problem with my T1. They suggested that it was probably the "pot". They
sent me two, just in case I screwed one up, which I almost did.

It solved the problem....Thrustmaster, your response was great.

A loyal customer.

says...

Well, I guess I'm going to find out.  After hearing about how the pedal
springs tend to break I had considered asking for back up springs in case
of a breakdown.  I procrastinated and today, 30 laps in at Pocono, the
gas pedal snapped.  I left a message on their voicemail and if anyone has
their e-mail address, I wouldn't mind backing  it up with that.  I did
make a slick "behind the wall" repair that I thought I'd share.  I didn't
want to wait for the spring before I drove again so I removed the broken
spring and found it to be a 2 wind coil.  Since the end was broken off, I
secured one end in a set of vice grips, and used pliers to unwind one of
the coils flat.  This allowed me to reinstall the spring and the only
loss in performance is that the pedal is softer.  Actually I kinda like
it but the spring won't snap the pedal all the way back...not enough to
make the car roll with your foot off the pedal though.  I had to nip a
little bit of the spring end off to get the deck to fit back on, and I
gotta tell ya, that is NOT a wimpy spring.  It just must take a lot of
stress.  Anyway, I hope they get those Tune-Up kits out fast!
