I just get a blank, blue window here with the fps counter running at the top...

I see a goraud shaded red BMW (318?) shell on a textured surface, indeed
featuring a blue backdrop with fogging and an fps counter at the top showing
about 70fps. Looks nice, moves and that's about it, really. ;-)

What kind of videocard are you using?

If it's any help to you, I get about 55fps on most views, and around
70fps from the "in car" camera.

 Rage LT Pro AGP 2X on a 333Mhz laptop...  That's a 3-D card of sorts, isn't
it?   Hardware is definately not my specialty :-D

Sorry, but now I can't help you :(
Maybe you have msvcpp installed on your computer and can debug it?

I think it could be caused by fog - not compatibile with your hw accel.
What kind of blue color did you see? R:0 G:0 :B:255 (default d3d
background) or maybe R:0 G:100: B:180 (fog and my background color - looks
like clear sky color).

Haha, not really, a 3D Virge is more of a 3d card then that. That is more of
a better video card then a 2mb one.

Heh..  Maybe there's another card in there somewhere...?  I just checked the
display area in Windoze to find it, but the Rage is all that's mentioned.  Good
to hear it, actually, that explains my less than optimal frame rates :-)

Maybe I can give that a try.  I haven't used
DX though, so I give myself about a 1 in 100 chance of finding the problem :-)

Don't think so, I do have fog running in another DX thing (not something I'm
writing though) and it's ok.  The color is rather light, more like the
0,100,180 I think.

Will have to look again.
