Here is a e-mail reply to one i sent to Sega to ask about Daytona and Indy.

I think you may be under a misconception. We did not buy the rights to Indy
500 or Daytona. We did pay a fee to license the use of these names and
tracks. Other companies are also able to do this. Like with the NFL football
games. We are licensed by the NFL to use their name and logo, but so are
Electronic Arts and other software companies.

I hope this clears matters up.

So Sega claims to have a "non-exclusive" license for Daytona and Indy?!?
Papyrus has been saying all along that they couldn't license rights because Sega
has "exclusive rights" to Daytona.  

Hmmm, I wonder who isn't telling the truth here?

Yup, Industrial Disease from that great album Love Over Gold. Funny
you should mention it, Mark Knopfler has a new album out (Golden
Heart) that is his bet work in years, probably his best since Love
Over Gold.
