I have installed Monaco GP2 on my system and the game runs okay but the
track is blue and the trees are blue on the screen.
Please can somebody advise me on what may be wrong

It is a fault with the game.  You need to download the relevent patch
for your 3D card from the Ubisoft Web site.

I had exactly this. I suspect that you have the Creative Voodoo2. You will
also get black and checkered effects in GPL. Get the more recent drivers
from http://www.creative-labs.com or http://www.3dfx.com must be at least
these versions:
FBI Revision 4
FxMemMal VxD 4.10.01.0015
WinGlide 2.x Version 2.53
DosGlide 2.x Version 2.53
WinGlide 3.x Version 3.00
Direct3D Driver Version 4.10.01.018-2.17
Direct3D 32-bit DLL Version 4.10.01.018-2.17
Direct3D 16-bit DLL Version 4.10.01.018-2.17
