I see that Neil C has a test session running; but the password Eldred
gave me doesn't let me in. Has there been a change of password, or did
Neil set the wrong value?

Inquiring minds, and all that....

Both are entirely possible ;) I set it to the lower case three letter word
we usually use - at least  I think I did.

I tried to be extra careful when I entered the password, so if we're
talking about the same TLA, then I think it must have been your
error.

No biggie: I see no one else tried to get on (or, if they did,
they're not yet commenting on password issues).

So is Imola being put off for yet another week? I've done a little
practice work at Spain, just in case...

I hope all is going well for Eldred, and that he and his get past
whatever the current difficulties are with no lasting problems or
regrets.

I suggest we keep the schedule as it is, and just move Imola to the end of the
schedule.  Spain this week, and Imola after Belgium.

   Hey Eldred...somebody mentioned this about another race series but I
thought it would make your starts better.  Make the first lap of the race a
recon or pace lap.  We all go around slowly and regrid...you can use that
slow lap to move the server car offline and then catch back up.  Then use
either a rolling start or somebody messages 'green flag' to make the
official start.

Nice idea, but....  If you use the recon lap it still puts the car back on the
grid for the green.  Unless you're talking about a 'gentlemen's agreement' not
to race until the actual second lap...
But, I thought you couldn't chat once you were already in the car?

I'd be game for a rolling, single-file start on the second lap...

   F1 2k2 had some pre-canned incar chats available(using the ctrl 1-0
keys).  I'll see if I can get them to work with F1C.

I'm going to be at the back (with Eldred) anyway, so single file or
"standard" grid makes no difference to me. We could certainly give it
a try....

It works with F1C as well.
Make a file called quickchattext.txt and put it in the folder G:\Program
Files\EA SPORTS\F1 Challenge 99-02\Save\Driver Name
Then put the following in.

[Autochat Messages]
autochat_01="Pitting OUT"
autochat_02="Pitting IN, this lap"
autochat_03="Sorry"
autochat_04="Thanks"
autochat_05="Pass left!"
autochat_06="Pass right!"
autochat_07="Out of gas"
autochat_08="Stalled"
autochat_09="Blue flag - go on by"
autochat_10="Damaged and off pace"
