GP2 crashes when I crash 8-[

Dear netters,

I used the nocdrom/cs97 patch that I got off the net, and when I got a
new machine (p133k5/32mb) gp2 started crashing on me, mostly when my
car gets airborne due to some accident. The screen freezes and the
sound enters a loop. The problems seems to be present in SVGA mode
only.

I suspected the patch to be at fault and re-installed the game from
scratch, using the supplied gp2.exe, but the problem is still
there. I'm using the german version (1.0b).

Has anyone encountered the same problem and found a solution for it?

Thanks in advance for any help,

I had this problem, but it was caused by overclocking my P150+ to a
P166+. So I think this trouble appear during an overcalculating moment.
I haven't this pb with the normal clocking.

Is your processor cooled enough? (it's very strange with a normal
processor to heat this way ?!?)

I hope it'll help you.

Finally, even without any overclocking, I got several crashes at
Estoril, when hitting another car or something like that...
It's not the proc :(

I also use the cs97 but not the nocdrom, and it's the french version.
No solution yet...

Have you made sure the soundcard was setup/recognized properly? Maybe
run the setup and choose no sound and see if that helps to isolate the
prob.
...just a quick thought

Good Luck

Ive got the UK version running the cs97 and have the same problem.  It
had happened before I loaded the carset though.  At least in Win95 it
doesn,t just lock up like it does under DOS, just closes the game & goes
back to Win95.  Yet another strange happening with 'Beta' Software eh!!

Yep, I've started also to experience crashes ever since installing the
no-cdrom patch, and I am also overclocking my P75 to P90... maybe the
patch is not error proof.
