OK, if its supposed to be a simulation, why is my line of vision getting
rattled when I hit a bump(s) in this sim? I understand the car's movement
when a bump is encountered ie: (up and down) but not the track to go along
with it. There's seems to be too much track movement from the***pit
view...an unfortunate drawback to the designers interpretation of a
simulated environment. Looks like the bumper cam will have to suffice. :(

Try turning down the G-force effects in the options

Ever been on a roller coaster?  Same effect as being strapped into one of
these suspension-almost-as-hard-as-rock cars.  Just turn down the G-Force
effect in the menu if you want a smoother looking ride.

I seem to recall a slider for head movement? Maybe I'm wrong..

I set the head physics/g-force/whatever slider to 50% and the in car
movement is pretty similar to N2003 now.  The track isn't that bumpy
(look at the external cameras, the car isn't bouncing around a foot
off the track F1C style) but the head movement by default is totally
overdone.

Yes and no. You get rattled around whereas the GTR mod reminds me of when I
took the Spax rear shocks off my old Avenger to sell and drove it to a s***
yard...

To the GTR development team; First, great job!!  Especially the
adjustable fwd/back/up/down for the drivers' view/seat.  Nice!  Also,
the sim feels and drives great.  I have to agree about the bump effect
being too much...  I have a large monitor and the current level of
'bumpiness' nearly gives out motion-sickness and makes my eyes hurt.
This was my only complaint with the original GTR for F12002.  I
actually could not play the original GTR due to this effect, which
seems to be replicated in your new product (BTW, that is the only sim
I have ever had a problem like that with).  I am sure that the effect
is true to life (naturally these cars have a VERY stiff ride) so this
is not a complaint or comment on realism.   I did notice that the
G-Force slider reduced this effect somewhat, so that helps, but it
still does not reduce it to a comfortable level (for me anyway).  Is
this something that you can reduce or at least allow the player to
adjust?  An amount of bumpiness comparable to F1C would be quite nice.

I thought it a bit much at first, but now, I mostly don't notice.  I've got
it at 90% too.  Maybe it's the "smoothing" effect of my LCD. :)

A better (softer) car suspension setup would probably help quite a bit. Back
off on the spring tension  and rebound/compression settings and see what
happens.

Its your lucky day, as a matter of it does and then some. It has slow
and fast bump damping AND slow and fast rebound damping. :)

Whoo-hoo!
I guess I'd better 'get around' to installing the thing.  Thanks!!!!

Those garage settings have been in the F1 series from ISI (which is the
engine used for GTR) for a a long time now. I think they were in the F1 sims
from Ubi Soft as well.

Yeah, even GP3/4 (maybe even GP1 and 2?  I forget) have fast and slow
bump and rebound.

I don't know what GPL era shocks were like, but I'm pretty sure the
available settings on NASCAR regulation shocks are pretty much as-is
in N2003.

OK, thanks.

I haven't tried any of those games.  I do know that setting up a TA car
at Goetzenberg is an excercise in frustration.  Which do you prefer;
traction out of the slow corners, or decent control (and speed) in the
esses.  Dual rate shocks would, in theory, allow both.  )The TA mod
would also benefit, IMO, by allowing rear roll bars stiffer than the 1"
limit now in effect.)

modern TA-class are.  The spring and damping rates are quite high, and
there is very little body roll or pitch.  The car is on (bumpy) rails.
Even with the stiff suspension, softer high speed damping allows the
tires to maintain good road contact. (As I understand it.)

It seems overdone to me as well. How the hell would the F1 cars be able to
race there if it's that bumpy? :-) Their suspension is hard as a rock. If
you watch the cameras attached to the nose of an F1 car, you can tell how
bumpy a track is. I don't remember seeing an earthquake cam at Spa.
