Can anybody help me improve my starting texchnique?  I spend ages in
qualify only to waste my efforts at the start as five or six cars
streak past.  I`ve tried using a separate clutch and clutch on the
gearshift.  Whether I spin the wheels or not I always seem to be slow
off the line.  :-(

I always have to go in and change the first three gears on the car
setups.  Once I did that, I could keep up with or pass them on the
start.  You just have to try the different gears, changing one can
effect the power of the next one.

I drive with all driving help off and at 0% everything.
With those settings, my experience is I get a fairly good start
consistently with this technique:
* Rev the engine so that the first rev light on the dashboard lights
up, and hold it right there. I do this after the red starting lights
come on.
* Watch for the green and put it in first gear as fast as you can.
* Listen to the tires, and make minor adjustments as necessary.

I sometimes can get off like a rocket like this, with little or no
wheel spin.  I think this is a good starting point.  You will work out
the technique of  keeping wheel spin down while keeping revs up for
those times when GP2 makes you work for a good start.

Now can you tell me how to qualify in the top 6 in ace mode?
Can you tell me how to qualify in the top half of the field even?

Cheers,
Jim Boka
