IndyCar Racing and NASCAR Racing seeks software engineers with
hands-on ability to write code in C and Assembler on microcomputers
including PCs, Macintoshes, and dedicated game platforms.
The only absolute requirement for these positions is the ability
to pass a simple programming test in C. Experience in 3D graphics
application or driver-level development is highly desirable, almost
a requirement.
To qualify for an interview you should have industrial experience
in C programming and experience in at least one of the following:
- PC, MAC, or console (SEGA, SNES, 3DO, etc) game development
- Low-level 3D graphics support: development of rendering primitives,
NURBS, 3D transformation pipeline, lighting and shading models,
software Z-buffers, etc.
- microcomputer device drivers, especially CD-ROM interfaces,
audio or video spooling and compression techniques
- low-level OS work, including time-slicing, multi-threading support,
network communication.
- 3D graphics application experience using GL, XGL, PEXLIB, Starbase,
Renderware, BRender, Rendermorphics, etc. (Possibly even PHIGS.)
- physically-based modeling/simulations.
background in classical physics.
Preference is given to degreed candidates, but there are no minimum
education requirements for these positions. A passion for race car driving,
though certainly not a requirement, is a huge plus.
Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
