shown in response to the following adverti***t and that an abusive
response not conducive with polite behaviour will simply demonstrate
your lack of intelligence. For those who harbour an interest more
familiar with the average F1 and GP2 fan then I welcome it. This notice
is being displayed due to myself receiving previous and un-necessary
abuse within this newsgroup which I feel, and many of my closest e-mail
chums also feel, was simply not warranted at the time. I thank you for
your time. Please read on...)
My name is Dan Prescott.
I run the Dan Prescott Motor Racing Association. The DPMRA has been
running for 7 years and its web site can be seen at welcome.to/the-dpmra
or
www.dan-prescott.demon.co.uk/racing/
I am looking for 27 drivers to compete in next year's DPMRA 2000 Formula
1 World Championship.
This year the season has been manager orientated but drivers still
wanting success will be given the chance next year and beyond to show
what they're worth. The manager slant to the DPMRA's Championship will
mean that there will be 28 drivers, including myself, and with a bit of
luck 14 managers. Your driving will surely influence which team you join
but it depends on the manager. They will be responsible for you over the
course of the season.
We will either use GP2, or GP3 if the majority of competitors become
familiar with it, and want to use it.
There will be a 14 race programme starting on, provisionally, Sunday
March 12th 1999 (practice all tracks in GP2 except Barcelona and
Estoril). It is expected that 2 drivers, of the same team, will compete
a race over the Internet with each doing 30 minutes of a qualifying
session on Saturday, and approx. 25 minutes each of the race on Sunday.
How many turns each driver will take has yet to be decided. It is likely
that a carset will be used with GP2 but this has yet to be decided.
So, just a few of the details, lots more to come during the winter
including, if necessary, some driver testing to pick the best 27
drivers. Currently, because there is more a management orientated theme
to the championship, computer simulants make up a vast number of the
grid. It is hoped that myself, if I become champion, will be able to
remain with his team to defend the title next year. The DPMRA wants to
put real people in the***pit, as it has done before, and give them a
chance to win again.
As is traditional, the winner of the championship will receive a trophy
for his side cabinet, with possibly trophies or awards for the top 3 and
maybe race winners to.
If you are interested in competing next year then please reply with the
following information.
1) Your First Name...ie Mika
2) Your Surname......ie Hakkinen
3) Can you drive at Ace, Pro, Semi-Pro, or Amateur?
4) What is your nationality?..ie Finland
5) For marketing purposes, how old are you?
6) Are you willing to link the DPMRA's Web Site either onto your own
site or as a signature on your e-mail?
7) Your top 3 circuits in GP2 (except Barcelona & Estoril)
The DPMRA will contact each driver once a suitable number respond. Dan
is available until June 08th when he shall be on holiday. He will be
checking e-mail again after he returns round about June 20th.
The DPMRA prides itself on running a championship for a select breed of
championship winners. If F1 thinks it is taking a champion on board then
your very welcome. In other words, if you think you have what it takes,
and can commit yourself to a a number of long, intense, seasons...then
Dan Prescott would like to hear from you.
Thanks for your time.
Details of the DPMRA's 2000 Season should appear on a new web site in
October.
Cheers
