OK, it's time for me to upgrade from my T1 steering wheel to ??? . . .Give me
some help here.  I was just about to go out and get the new Thrustmaster
Nascar system and then my wife saw the CH system.  I came to R.A.S. and have
read a few things.. went to the Thrustmaster and CH web sites, but still ????

I use my steering system mostly for F1 and GP2 stuff (not so must Nascar,  ...
infact no Nascar) ... mostly road racing sims.

Please give me some feedback as to which way to go here.

Thanks,

Dan

Well, it depends upon how patient you are. Also, this might not apply
since it doesn't appear to cater to your current tastes in driving
games. However, the buzz re the Act Labs RS force-feedback wheel is a Q1
release date. This wheel is supposed to retail around $99 US, less than
a Nascar wheel in most places. This would seem to be a good purchase
nontheless, as more and more driving games should include force-feedback
ability. This is the single reason for my having broken down and
purchased CPR, albeit a used copy for $30. That and the supposed release
of the patch for CPR. Maybe these two factors will make CPR into a
decent driving experience instead of creating flashbacks from Power F1
and X-Car. Another reason for considering an Act Labs RS force-feedback
wheel is rumors of a force-feedback patch being considered for F1RS. Now
this is what I'm talkin' 'bout...
The reason for mentioning this wheel is that you asked for some
feedback... get it?

I was wondering the same thing recently...  I'm extremely happy with my T2, but
I'm being tempted by the prospects of force feedback.  Any opinions on current
force feedback wheels or is everyone waiting for Act Labs?

No real complaints about the T2 considering $$$$. The CH is questionable
though. PC Gamer reviewed the wheel and gave it poor marks. I was able
to try one the other day and saw EXACTLY their point: The wheel has
almost NO tension! It doesn't seem to want to come back to center
perfectly. Feels 'soft'.

You might want to check out the Nascar Pro from Thrustmaster since it's
newer.

If you're up to spending a little more money the TSW always gets high
marks. (Thomas Super Wheel). I'd love to try one of these myself but
$$$...... ;-)

There is links for all these on my sim page PLUS you'll find links on
how to make your own wheel.
