>Hey DG, never mind what happened to Our Lord, what happened to you?
It's been all too quiet lately. It's time for some good old 'this so called
master piece SUCKS big time!!!' messages.
I'm sure the upcoming releases will give Gary inspiration again, although
they're not from Microprose.

Yeah, Ubi F1 sucks because in ICR2 I can get flung around the track by a
so called 'teleport' bug, but in Ubi F1 I can't. What a half assed
attempt at a 'sim'.

Wait a sec...I need to empty the bucket - you can have it when I'm
done. =P

Well I must say I havent been*** out here recently. It doesnt
make me any money<g>.
A buddy and I have started a web publishing company and have been
extremely
busy creating a Shockwave site using all kinds of new technologies. Ill
personally
email you the url when finished, if you care to take a look. Any free
time I spend
is racing. I find the more I hang out in here the more my times
suck!<BIG g>.
About SODA. I went to E3 with my bus. partner and was priviledged to
spend about half an hour with
Steve Travers and a few of his collegues. We tested SODA on a p200 with
rendition
and force feedback(which didnt work at the time). We had to take a limo
over to the Sierra
building which was a few blocks from the convention center and Georgia
dome. I must say
Mr. Travers was a polite chap even after finding out I was the one whos
been giving him
such a hard time.<g>
Ive spoken my peace in the past and if that means anything to anyone,
fine. However
I think by meeting the guys behind the monitor and being able to demo
the game itself
led me to more of an understanding of how good this game is. Of course I
tried it on a top
of the line system, but it still doesnt change my opinion on the
paintkit. OTOH, I liked
the feel off the sim and it seemed "real despite the high sensitivity
level, graphics and
no truck editor. I would rather see a sim designed to mirror that of its
realworld counterpart
than weigh on the eye candy side. I also havent tested it on a "average"
pentium which I will always feel games _should_ be designed for. As you
might well know. The chap that created Microsoft's "*** Zone"
and I started the "FlyBoyz" racing team a while back using MTM as a
platform(yeah cheezy, I know
but the only truck racing game that could be played on the net.
Anyway we were the only team outa 17 teams that had time requirements
for membership. We won 14 outa 16 tourneys because of it, which
included around 20 teams and came in 2nd and 3rd on the other 2.
Keeping this in mind SODA was MUCH more of a sim and from past
experiences with a "cheesier" but none the less
fun MTM, I will purchase SODA when the final release is due.
BTW, I think I barely missed meeting Eric Bush. They said he had just
left, maybe some other time.
Just 'cause I havent posted anything in a couple of weeks doesnt mean Im
not lurking. I just havent had anything good to *** about lately<g>!
I'll see ya around Johnny! =8>)-
