GP2: Pit Stop Strategy

Hi,

I was running a 100% race distance at Monza just now. I am currently in
lap 33 of 53 laps and lying in number 4 after some race leaders have
pitted in semi-pro level. Got to sleep now and continue tomorrow
morning(it is 4:15p.m. now). I noticed that those AI cars are using
1-stop strategy but I am using 2-stop strategy. So I got no chance to
chase them. I have pitted on lap 18 and will pit again on lap 36. I
spunned out 3 times at those chicanes. Do most AI drivers use 1-stop or
2-stop pit strategy?

I also noticed that 10 laps and 20 laps of fuel have no difference in
lap times. However, I can feel that my tire is wearing out after 14
laps, 4 laps before my schedule pit stop. How to safe those *** so
that I can use 1-stop strategy?

I have driven about 10 full races at Monza and I also noticed that all the
top-drivers are on a 1-stop strategy (also semi-pro level).

Try not to brake hard before corners. It will save ***.
BTW, I was able to win Monza three times on a 2-stop strategy.

:
Hummm...  I usually run Monza with a 1-pit stop strategy.  Coultard,
Hill, and Schumacher almost always do a 2-stopper.  The Ferraris usually
opt for a 1 stopper.  Could this be tied with the human's pit stop
strategy?

Let me revise this.  It would appear that the AI make their pit-stop
strategy based on the spread between qualifying times.  If I really
out-qualify the guys, they seem to go for a 2 pit stop strategy.
However if the gaps are close they opt for 1 pit stop.  (this is at
Monza & at Semi-Pro level)

Once you select stetegy its too late I'm afraid.
The easiest way to save tires is to soften
your suspension and brake earlier.
Try running 30% races as tests for your race setups,
Hope this helps,

No. It has to do with the teams.

I wish they had opted to add a little more to the game. I would love to say,
move Schumacher to the Ligier's and see how he does. But what's in  a name? I
edited his name to the Ligiers and he promptly failed to qualify for 5 races
in a row.

I would love to move drivers to different cars and then run a 'what -if'.
Gee...I wonder if I can do this in a sim?
