Note: GIT is currently upgrading it's internet connection in order to
provide faster service. We are also changing our IP-Addresses due to a
new service provider. Occasional down-time (not to exceed 10 minutes
each time) may be encountered throughout this week.
For those of you who have DNS caching browsers (such as Netscape): your
servers will not come up until you clear your disk cache. Unfortunately
this will effect everyone who browses your site. The error that will be
seen is 'Server not responding', because the server that the browser
called is the old one at the old IP address. Simply clearing the disk
cache and trying the URL again will solve the problem. Unfortunately
Netscape has not changed this 'feature' (bug?) so the people trying to
get to your site who haven't cleared they're disk cache in a while will
never get there until they do.
We are currently attempting to put a 'please clear your cache and try
again' message on the old IP addresses, but this may take up to 3 days
to
do. We appologize for the inconvenience and hopefully we will not have
to change our IP addresses again. We suggest that you notify all the
people you can who access your site and request that they clear their
cache.
Regards,
Damian Clark
