Telemetry Zone (A new project idea)

Hi, a few days ago I started work on a new racing sim project, this
will involve me running a ftp server which will allow users to share
telemetry, setup & replay files submitted by sim racers for f1 2001,
2002, gp3, gp4 & gpl.
Rather than expecting users to install and learn to use an ftp client
(if they dont know how to) I am also working on a simple to use
downloading & uploading app in Visual Basic, at the moment it is
functional but still has no error checking, I may require several
people to carry out some beta testing at a later stage. The whole
project will be fully up and running in approx 2 weeks.

So what do you think?, a good idea, or not?

Any other suggestions?

I hope so. But what I would really like is to have the full telemetry so
I can see what inputs the really good drivers use vs mine.

With the_best stuff all I can get is the line and speed (which is VERY
useful) but I would love to see where the throttle application is
different and so on.

But I don't want to use some visual basic thing - I would much rather ftp
stuff. - or at least have a perl script or something (not that I am
religious or anything :-)

the visual basic app a simple ftp client anyway so if anyone wanted to
ftp stuff instead it would be a prob as ftp access details will be
available on the under construction website.
