T1 or T2

I own a T2 and an ECCI CDS. I think the T2 is well worth the money. I've never
owned a T1, but my T2 holds up just fine. (I still have noot seen the reason
why my ECCI CDS costs five times as much as a T2, except for durability (time
will tell). But there's definately not a five fold ncrease in performance.

Anyway, the T2 comes with Clamps so you can clamp it to your desk.

T1 or T2

by Nick Totor » Wed, 27 Mar 1996 04:00:00

I realize this may have been a topic dwelled already, but I've been
gone a while, and I'd really like to see if an idea I have is worth
doing. I've been using a Thrustmaster T1 for a little over a year now. I
have used it quite well with no difficulty at all for any reason on ICR,
ICR2, NASCAR Racing, World Circuit and NFS.
Now for my question. I'm considering purchasing a T2 and am
wondering if the design differences and/or ergonomics are worth it over
the T1. I only have a few desigb beefs with the T1: A) the base is too
light... the pedalboard moves too freely, and B) My little suction cups
have died and gone to plastic heaven. Is there anyone who has an idea
for a desktop clamp or anything like that?
Anyway, thanks for the time and attention and I'm looking forward
to any and all suggestions.

I just got a t2.  I have had a t1 for about a year.  The wheel feels nice
with the padding  and Thrustmaster service tells me the plastic gimbal in
the wheel assembly make response smoother.  After an hour or so of
testing on another machine (won't pull my T1 til after the series is
over) I tend to agree.  The pedals may take a bit of getting used to
since it seems a smooth (slippery) footed shoe would work better on the
pedals, whereas I liked a set of tennis shoes on the rollers.  Guess I'll
have to guy a pair of Simpsons...or Dave Marcis wingtips!

I screwed mine to the floor!  :)

Read my post to the newsgroup about chair mounting.  I firmly believe
it's the way to go.  'course I've kinda gone evil-bucks on this deal.
