Steering Wheel/Pedals for Macs?

by Janet and Jeff Yeage » Sun, 14 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I was wondering if someone on this group could help me.  I recently
purchased Papyrus' "IndyCar Racing" for the Power Mac.  However, I have
been unable to find a steering wheel/pedal combo that is Mac
compatible.  If anyone knows of such a product, or a way in which I
could adapt a PC periperal to my Mac (such as the Formula II by
Thrustmaster) please let me know.  I do not wish to play the game on a
joystick.

Thank you for your help,

J. Yeager

Included in the packaging of my ICR2 was a flyer from Thrustmaster
announcing the Formula T2 wheel/pedal combo for the Mac.
Priced at $149.95 you can order it direct  from Thrustmaster  (503) 639-3200

>Jeff.

I called Thrustmaster and they said the Mac version would be out
around August.  Ie, that flyer is a little early but will be valid
soon.

I haven't found any other options for Mac wheels (I'm looking too).
I'll probably buy something like a Mad Catz (for PC or Sony Playstation)
and wire it into my Thrustmaster stick homebrew style (not really a
problem if you don't mind voiding your warranty :)).  Another cheap
alternative, if you don't mind homebrew wiring and you already have
a good stick to work with, is the Per4mer wheel (no pedals).
I saw one at Electronic Boutique for $59 Cdn.
