Wow, so close, but yet, so far. I made it to within 4 laps of the
end, when a silly mistake (driving too slow -- how frustrating!!) put
me into the hill at the hairpin and I couldn't get out again.

I was in 4th (last) at the time, but I really want to finish one of
these damn things!!!

I gave someone a fright at the hairpin a few laps before that. I cut
across the track recovering from a spin that had me facing the wronog
way at the same time that the other person appeared. Sorry about
that, and I hope I didn't cause any more damage than few missed
heartbeats.

Very odd behaviour at the start of the race and for the first couple
of laps: there was tremendous warping from somewhere. I think it was
the 2nd lap, coming back around to the hairpin and I passed a bunch
of cars on the run down to the lefthander, and they were all blinking
in and out. I suspected it was me (since *all* the others I could see
were blinking), but my meters were displaying a rock solid
connection. There was just a hint of a red bar in the Lag column, and
the other two were clear. I'm on DSL and I usually don't have
problems.

If it *was* me, then I must apologize on behalf of my ISP.

Mid-race I suffered my usual bout of brain fade and had three or four
spins and off-track excusions. Apparently no damage was suffered, so
it is obvious that the gods favour the helpless (hopeless?).

Thanks muchly Eldred. I hope dragging yourself out of bed to start
the server wasn't too much of a struggle.

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm really surprised I was able to finish, I must have spun at least 5
different times. Fortunately in every case I was able to stop it before I
hit something large and hard.  I even managed to spin around backwards in
the hairpin without hitting the tires.  I have never been able to do that in
practice!

Hopefully I didn't get in anybody's way.  I don't like pulling over on the
straights, after all I'm in the race too.  But I did try to give people the
inside line on the slow corners and let them through that way.  The hairpin
and Sanson (the 90 deg. left) seemed like good places to let people by.  I
won't intentionally block, having somebody behind me just makes me***up
more!  ;o)  Hopefully I didn't slow down the leaders too much.

By the way, did anybody save the replay or the paper?  I would like to get a
copy of each.  The server terminated before I had a chance to save.  TIA.

The server should have saved the replay, and Jan sent the paper.  It will be on
my webpage as soon as I copy all the files...
