Will you PLEASE confirm or deny that this demo requires an Intel
Pentium chip?  I have wasted hours of my time trying to get this demo to
work just to get countless errors.  I am sure other non-pentium owners
are having the same problem.  A lot of people are getting frustrated
over a simple demo.  Most are already disenchanted w/Sierra in the 1st
place.  This equals bad business.  I'm sure you have learned by now not
to mention dates on long term projects, people only hear the exact date
& take it to be law.  The same principle applies to this situation as
some people will become agitated at the problems they face w/this demo &
not buy from Papyrus again.  Regardless of it being a demo, your
company's image is still as much on the lin as if it was the actual
finished product.

The following was taken out of the first few lines of the readme.txt file
that came with the demo.  If you refuse to read it there, maybe you will
read it here...

REQUIREMENTS:  The demo requires 16MB RAM and a Pentium.  The requirements
for the full product are not determined at this point, but may be lower.

Ok, now, what part of that did you not understand?

RTFM guys.

I am sure you are.  RTFM.

No, the demo is actually pretty complex.  You, on the other hand.....

Jeezzee.  They state that you need 16 megs and a Pentium. You try to run it
on a 486.  Yours doesn't doesn't work.  They are tarnishing their image.
You sound like the guy who smoked all his life, then sues the cigarette
company because he got cancer.  Guess he thought they were kidding when
they printed the warning label on the pack, huh?

Look, it's a demo. It is not the final product.  There are lots of things
left to be ironed out.  Demo's usually are not as polished as the final
release.  More time is spent on actually getting the final version done.
We know about the palette problem and are working on it.  We know about
the Cyrix problem, it's already fixed (and no, we won't be releasing
another demo until the final version is out).  Also, thanks to all the
people who have responded quickly with suggestions and bugs.  It's a big
help.

damn..... :-)

Seriously Adam, thanks for all the hard work. Some of us ( myself
included ) lost our minds becuase we thought we wouldn't get to use your
new product...and THAT is not a bad thing. Now that I know the Cyrix
problem is fixed I'm off to order the thing.

p.s. don't bother replying...shouldn't you be off coding something? :-)

Not going to get me complain about the demo.  A couple of points though.

When I pitted under a yellow most of the cars tried to pit right through
me.  Caused a big mess in the pits.   Will the AI be instructed to stay
right of the yellow line until they reach their pit?

Ran out of fuel cuz I was stupid.  I was getting ready to pit, but the
yellow came out, pit's closed.  Thought I might get back around, but
nope, ran out of fuel.  The invisible tow truck drug me back to the
pits.  But the poor crew couldn't fix my problem.  Will they know how to
fill an empty tank and spray ether down the carb in the final release?

A couple of times the tire temp display or the lap time display would
stop updating.  I could toggle them back on and get a fresh display, but
it wouldn't automatically update.

Another time I guess the radio went out.  The spotter just clammed up
and wouldn't talk to me any more.  I don't think I did anything to upset
him, but....

It's almost impossible to turn the car around on the track if the wheel
lock is set low.  Which I have to do for my T1.  Will we have a little
more wheel lock at low speeds.  Since you aren't going to allow us to do
a power turn, this would be helpful.

Keep up the good work.  November is just around the corner...

Well, there's a rumour that Benny Parsons is on the spotter radio so
there's a good possibility that he just stepped out for a hoagie!  (vbg)

It's not Benny, it's Glenn Jarrett. (maybe)
