DX 7: Link for uninstalling it?

by Burke Well » Wed, 17 May 2000 04:00:00

Wanting to uninstall Direct X 7 (temporarily....it's a long story...lol). I
remember seeing a link for this topic months ago, but I no longer seem to
have it bookmarked. Anybody know where I can find it?

Thanks,

Burke Wells

It's says on Microsoft's DirectX download page that DirectX 7 is
un-uninstallable (if that's a word!).   You shouldn't need to uninstall it
anyway, any problems you are having are more likely related to individual
games or hardware drivers.

Thanks to all who replied. Problem solved.

I had learned on my previous pc that Direct X 7 was not compatible with my
Thrustmaster Nascar SuperSport wheel & pedals software, but would coincide
somewhat as long as the TMSS software installation preceded the DX7 install.
Well, I'm setting up a new pc, and I accidently installed DX7 before I
installed the wheel software (ooops), and it wouldn't install, therefore I
was needing to back up to DX 6.1 to get the wheel installed, then go back to
DX7.

Not that anyone really cared for the explanation, (lol), but there it is
anyway.
