TOCA2 - The first day

This game has exceeded all my expectations and is without doubt the most
exciting computer racing sim of all time. Not only that, it has more than
pretensions to be classed as a sim of quality, not in the same style as GPL
but, in its own way, arguably even more true to life.

Codemasters seem to have a happy knack of championing gameplay over all else
and, in my view, they are right. What we now need to happen is for them to
buy Papyrus to create the all time finest sims with the right sort of
playability.

I'm not saying TOCA2 is perfect - it's just the most enjoyable racer out
there which, when all's said and done,is what this hobby we so love should
be all about.

Played the final, rrevved:? :) I have to agree. This is the finest racing sim
around. I've never been so overwhelmed racing wise in my sim-life.

It's not a driving simulator on par with GPL., no.... but this sim is simply
amazing to race.

heheh, nice point ;)

Still, codies are a fairly amazing little company, who turn over silly
ammounts of sales. Would be nice if Papy could learn a thing or two to make
them more viable ;)

Codemasters make PSX games they port to the PC. Papyrus make PC games full
stop. We'd never let anyone get away with any substandard parts of their games
if they were made for PC but we are happy to allow Codies leeway because of
the PSX background. For the record I loved TOCA and love TOCA2 but am worried
that as I am up the front of the expert championship in my first weekend of
owning it, it will end up consigned to the "just for a rainy day" CD pile
before too long.

Scalable AI would be nice :)
