rec.autos.simulators

I have been trying to edit the scicon.pcx file so that the green are
around the Quaker State logo is transparent, but no matter what I do, it
just changes colors.  I have the color palettes for Nascar and they work
fine when I'm painting cars, but for this they don't work.  Does anyone
have any ideas?

Ironically, I just e-mailed someone a lengthy description of how to make
"transparent" decals (as a matter of fact, the word "transparent" was the
word I was looking for then!).
Not knowing which paint program your using makes this a little difficult,
but basically the "pink" is the last "pink" in the 256 color pallette. If
you use either Neopaint 3.2 or Paint Shop Pro 3, you will be able to see
this very easily (Well, maybe not THAT easily, but...). The other "pinks"
will PASTE transparent, but appear in Paintkit as another color. This
makes it difficult to see what your pasting over!

Use the light pink colour from the inside of the purple splash decal, and
don't change the palette.
