my wife made the comment, and i certainly have no medical backgound...
but consider this possiblity:
we see he is protecting his son and teammates position's. as he
realizes he is losing control, he turns his head to watch his 'boys'
approaching the s/f line, and his last thought is THEY ARE GONNA DO
IT!
for you earnhardt fans/followers...you KNOW he was grinning his ass
off those last laps. i can almost hear him chuckling, thinking 'oh boy
are they gonna think about fining me'
"hahaha i don't care, cause Mikey gets a 1st win in 462 tries, and my
son is 2nd... hahaha this is great!" and that's his last concious
thought.... he will be missed, but can you think of a better way to
go?

You know, the more I see the footage of the wreck (like we have a choice),
the more I think...

Man, what an INCREDIBLE 10 seconds of bad luck...

If you really watch it close, and break it down into descreet 'steps', you
will see that Dale actually saved that car more than once.  But, every time
he saved it, something else bad happened.  Save, bad thing.  Save, bad
thing.  Save, bad thing.

I am absolutely convinced that this accident was NO ONE's fault.  It was a
series of 'Bad Things' that occured in a very short period of time.

I also determined that, IMHO, if, at ANY particular moment, any one of the
three cars were just 1 foot different in their position during this 10
seconds, we would not be having these dreadful tears right now...

It was Bad Luck folks, pure and simple.
