I thought there was a rev limiter in N3, but I can't find out what key it
is. Anybody know?

no rev limiter in N3.  It's gone.  Papy took it out.  Sorry.

Not quite out...The "rev limiter" was actually intended as an
auto-brake feature.  Papy took out the in-race switch.  I beleive you
can still enable the auto-brake in the options menus but you can't turn
it on and off during a race.
Time to take a few minutes and do what the real world drivers do..
drive the pits in first gear and note the rev's when you hit the pit
speed limit...just more work, work work...:)

Technically you are right but if you hit "ESC" just before you hit
the pits you can turn on braking help and then turn it off when you
leave. (got snagged 4 times in one go for speeding at tally :( ) then
gaveup and used it.

It's also more sensitive.  I got nailed for 46 in a 45 zone... :-(
Screwed up a good race(up to that point).  It cost me two laps(1 on the green
flag stop, 1 on the stop-n-go).  ARGH!

And so it should be. They're usually very strict about the speed
restrictions. N3 simulates this well.

Now why didn't I think of that?

If you hit ESC isn't your car still travelling at speed?  Its not like
your car "pauses", don't you risk getting into an accident if you are
pitting with others?

I didn't realise there was an option in N2 that allowed for rev-limiting
in the pit lane, so I used to go one further to make sure that I didn't
exceed the pit lane speed limit.  I would ensure that my first gear was
set up so that when the spotter said "Keep it under 4500" or whatever,
then I would play around with my first gear during practice until when I
was keeping it just under 4500 then my pit lane speed would be pretty
accurate and the spotter wasn't talking out of his ass.  Saved me having
to write anything down or remember anything. :-)

It didn't always work, on odd occasions as I changed my 1st gear setting
the spotter would change the rpm to keep it under, but on most occasions
it worked great!

I haven't yet got N3 so I'm not sure how this translates to it though.
I'm expecting it gift-wrapped this Christmas. :-)

If you hit ESC to go to the menu, it IS a pause...  You can pick up right where
you left off.  This assumes you're not in a multiplayer game.  If you are...?
I dunno.  I haven't run N3 multiplayer yet.  Maybe this weekend...<g>
