A few comments on the N.I.C.E 2 demo (the large one):

Graphics:

- Nice, crisp and fast (it uses 512x384 mode for 3Dfx, but I don't
mind as the frame-rate is excelent).

Driving model:

- Rather disappointing. It just doesn't feel like real driving. The
steering seems wrong somehow, both for normal steering and skid
recovery (using a T2 wheel, with the option set for steering wheel). I
like the idea of having "ordinary" cars, but the driving model is no
where NEAR as good as NFS 1.

Accident/collision model:

Also disappointing, feels like crashing tin cans on a small toy track.

AI:

What AI? These computer cars wouldn't go out of their way to avoid a
supernova.

Gameplay:

Given the lack of AI and the poor driving model, there really isn't
much there. I won't even consider buying this one unless it has good
net play as racing the computer idiots is no fun at all. Even then, I
probably won't buy it unless the driving model is significantly
improved.

That's my $.02.

Well Joe, your 0.2$ review shows indeed how much one should trust another
guy's opinion: I find the steering and the handling of the car with a T2
very good, Screamer2-ish. You have a point though on AI and collisions;
but they say (in German) they will work on this, as the demo is an alpha
release. The tracks are the niciest I've ever seen.
For me it looks very promising, with better collisions I will certainly
buy the
final game.

CONCLUSION: if you like the idea of racing "ordinary" cars, don't thrust
mine or
any one else's opinion but check out the demo: that's why it's there!
