work correctly I have serious reservations about what kind of a sim this
group could put together. I do hope I'm wrong...Buttt..

Empire Interactive Announces Ford Racing Licensing Agreement
Empire Interactive today announced it has signed a global licensing
agreement with Ford Motor Company to develop a franchise based on Ford
Racing. Ford has has considerable success in NASCAR Winston Cup racing
with more teams sporting the blue oval than any other manufacturer's
symbol. Ford ran its flagship brand Taurus on the curcuit in 1998 for
the first time, and the car won 15 races in its inaugural season.
Ford Racing, the official licensed game, will feature 12 cars selected
from Ford's U.S. and European road car models, including the Taurus,
the Mustang, F-Series, Explorer, GT90 and several concept cars. All
the automobiles can be used to compete at any one of the game's 10
detailed and realistic race courses. The publisher claims a
sophisticated car physics model will offer real-world handling when
coupled with the configurable and extensive vehicle setup.
The games career mode offers competition against 80 other drivers in
five race classes, while the single and online modes provide
opposition from up to 15 drivers. According to Empire, the career mode
is an integral component of the offering. Starting out as a novice,
success in the amateur class races enables people to build up finances
and a reputation that will lead to sponsorships and invitations to
more races. Eventually, people will be offered a contract to race for
a team. The player will eventually acquire a financial base adequate
enough to fund his or her own racing at the highest world level. At
this point, a whole new range of vehicle and accessory combinations
become available.
Ford Racing is slated for a Q1 2000 release on PC and console
platforms.

Then again, those of us who did get Flying Corps to work found one of the
best prop sims out there, one that keeps us coming back for more.

: True, and now Empire's MiG Alley is the best *** jet sim of the year.
: I can't wait to check out Ford Racing.
Not to stray off topic for too long, but I would say (in my opinion) that
MiG Alley is the *only* jet sim for me, since I always found shooting at
radar blips tedious and unfullfilling.

Back ON-TOPIC, as a Chrysler fan who currently owns a Honda and a Toyota
(but no Chrysler products), I have to say that Ford Racing sounds good to
me -- as long as they give us something with more merit than "Andretti
Racing."
