GPL and F1 Indy race

I had the following idea. If N3 sales can be boosted by featuring the
Daytona demo at the event, wouldn't it be a good idea for Papy/Sierra to
release a special demo version of GPL at the upcoming return of Formula
1 to the USA?

The demo could include the Indy track from the 50's (when F1 points were
given for the Indy 500 event) or 60's and perhaps also the modern
version. Perhaps not the most realistic combination with the '67 cars,
but it just might squeeze further sales from what is still the best
driving sim (and wouldn't it be fun?).

Just a thought.

Since EA and Hasbro seem to have the current license's, that may be a
tricky item,  but Bernie seems to consider each and every year of F1 an
entirely separate enity so perhaps something like that would be do-able
what was the banking at Indy?  Is it within the Gpl limits?

Unless Indy has changed more than I think over the years, it is nearly the same
as today I believe, if not the same.  The banks at Indy are a few ticks over 9
degrees I believe.  GPL should be able to handle it.

It's no more than it is now, I can give you that much...it was the Brickyard
for a reason, and I don't think you can go very steep with bricks :)

Why not add in the Indy Roadcourse as well?  At least a de-scenery-ified
(nice word :) layout of the planned track...who needs trees?

GT Interactive holds the electronic rights to the IRL and the Indy 500,
so I doubt that Papy could legally do an historic Indy track.  They were
able to do Indy for N3 because GT only holds the rights to the Indy 500,
not the Indianapolis Motor Speedway itself -- which is also how EA will
