GPL Ringtrainer, F4 voice problem?

by Arto Wik » Fri, 05 Jan 2001 05:26:17

GPL gang,

at last I today installed the Ringtrainer hoping that I would
become less lazy in practising...

Seems to work otherwise fine, but when I activate the "hotkey" F4,
the voice that says what part of track I selected, is ... how
to say... very childish... Did Joachim record his childrens'
voices... ;-)  Or is my system playing the wav-files in double speed?

No, he just wanted to disguise his voice for some reason so he sped it up. I
think the readme talks about this.

In the English version I did not find any readme, and the html-on-line
help doesn't seem to talk about the voice... Well I'll get used to
the fast and high German after a while... :-)

Hi Arto!

Sorry for my late answer but I was on holiday.
If you don't like my 'chipmunked' voice you can easily replace it with your
own one. Therefore, you must record eleven wav-files and name them
'ansageX.wav', where X stands for the numbers 0 to 10. Then move these files
into the Ringtrainer-folder, overwriting the original ones. The order of the
locations is the same as in the selection field, which means that the file
'ansage0.wav' contains the voice saying 'Boxengasse', the file 'ansage1.wav'
says 'Flugplatz' asf.

Best regards
Crash
