OT: NASCAR Diecast Recommendations

Hi there,

I live in the UK and have just started to get into NASCAR. Can anyone
recommend a manufacturer and/or supplier of "smaller" scale NASCAR 2002
cars.

By "smaller" I mean around 1/43 rather than the 1/24 1/18 which is all I can
seem to find.

I don't mend if it's a US based company as long as I can buy via the net.

Cheers Lee

There's not too much available in the way of 1/43.  If it were me, I'd
check EBay.  I know there's some stuff out there though.

John,

It doesn't have to be specifically 1/43, just a small scale as with my other
diecasts (F1 & Sports cars) I need the room. Looking at your web pages 1/64
seems to be a favourite scale in the US?

Cheers Lee

Yeah, there's a lot of 1/64 stuff available.  Are you looking for older
diecast or just new stuff?

I find that the older stuff is more fun to collect because it's harder
to find. For instance, my primary goal is to have a 1/64 version of
every cup championship car.  I think I have everything that's ever been
available in 1/64, but am still missing the following years:

 1949-1956
 1958-1961
 1963
 1965
 1966

I've pretty much stopped collecting nascar diecast except for whatever
the championship car is for a given year.

I'd also like to find an AMC Matador stockcar in any scale (Bobby
Allison's 1974 car, or something similar), but I don't know if anyone
every made one.

Yep. Older 1:43 would be Racing Champions or better Quartzo. Newer is Winners
Circle. Action has a new limited series of 1:32. As for 1:64, new old ??? Basic
or detail?? On a side note...

Media Alert For Immediate Release: Action Performance Merchandise Shipment

differentiate it from the stolen merchandise.

Action further requests that collectors be alert for fraudulent sales of the
stolen Club product. Any Club product available outside of Actions official
RCCA distribution network should be considered suspect.

"Action is thoroughly prepared to remedy the situation," said Fred Wagenhals,
Actions chairman, president and CEO. "We are doing what is necessary to
replace these products for our devoted collectors, so, in advance, I thank
everyone for their patience.

"I also hope that RCCA members and race fans who discover any of our RCCA
merchandise being sold illegally will let us know," Wagenhals continued.
"Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your vigilance as we

I'm looking to collect new stuff, as I want to relate to the stuff I have
actually seen, I would prefer high detail items. Something to compare,
perhaps, with Minichamps F1, GT stuff.
