Not sure what TANSTAAFL stands for but its definitely true that some
setttings with certain hardware configurations can cause different
effects and should be a necessary disclaimer with all tweaking.
I have the VSYNC=0 and SWAPINTERVAL=0 setting with no screen tearing
in F1RS. Changing the screen refresh to a higher rate
(SST_SCREENREFRESH=85) may eliminate tearing. Note that with a
refresh rate higher than 75 or 80 (I think), the gamma settings don't
take effect unless the SST_VIDEO_24BPP=1 entry is also included.
BTW, SST_TRIPPLE_BUFFER=1 is only of use when no Z-Buffer or Alpha
Buffer is being used, which is not the case for any program that
doesn't allow 800x600 at least. But it won't do any harm to have it
set anyways.
