Well, I got a few firsts and was informed that I could enter some
gibberish to go into cheat mode.

Did I do it ? Of *course* I did....

But I didnt notice anything different.

What the hell is cheat mode, if I cant find out how to cheat?

NE1 know ?

thats because the cheats the game gives you are pointless.
the cheats for all cars and tracks are on my TOCA - A Player's Guide site.
