SDD 5.3a WAS WORKING, NOW NO!

by Michael Bar » Sun, 30 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I downloaded the trial version of SDD 5.3a a couple of months ago.  I
was very pleased to discover it supported my Rendition Verite' based
Intergraph Reactor 3D.  I also discovered that it improved my frame rate
in Microprose's "Grand Prix 2" considerably.  I allowed the 21 day trial
to expire, then ordered the registered version from Compuserve.  The
problem now is that in spite of installing the new software, the "Grand
Prix 2" game is now running at it's old frame rate.  Even though the
multicolored band comes on the screen, the game seems to run at it's old
pre SDD 5.3a rate.  This happens in both win95 and DOS versions of the
game.  Is there a way to check to make sure the Registered version is
working properly?  And why would it suddenly stop working?

I then went in to the control panel, and changed some settings.
Suddenly it worked again.  I got GP2 running fast again.  Then my
machine crashed, and gp2 is slide show again.  Now I have changed just
about everything, and it is not working again. The problem is I can't
remember what I changed to get it working good.  Any ideas would be
appreciated.

There's a way to use the trial version as long as you would like.

Maybe you can consider that OK since you registered anyway? :-)

Let me know if you want...
