What a feeling!

I am speaking to you today [from the Cabinet Office...] revelling in my
new-found authority and influence.

I have been accepted by that great Who's Who of GPL, known in the trade
as "Schubi's site" as no less a figure than the World number 78 at Spa!

(It would have been no 76 but that replay got corrupted :-( )

I'd just like to thank the Returning Officer, the police and my
opponents, who fought an honourable campaign (except you, Surtees), and
look forward to serving my community with the humility and respect for
those around me that they should expect from me.

It is a great privilege to have been judged worthy of this... er...
privilege, and I feel the responsibility most deeply. Thank you.

3:19.07. Looking at the site ( http://www.parc-ferme.de/fastlaps.htm ),
this is what you need to beat for various positions in the top 100:

1st - 3:12.57 (Wolfgang Woeger - again)
2nd - 3:12.89 (Greger Huttu - again - again)
10th - 3:13.88
25th - 3:14.58
50th - 3:16.72
75th  - 3:18.81
100th - 3:21.34

And the best with each car is:

Eagle - 3:12.57
Lotus - 3:14.34
Ferrari - 3:16.73
Brabham - 3:16.19
BRM - 3:18.24
Cooper - 3:19.93

No Honda driver has made it onto the scoreboard.

CONGRATULATIONS !!!
I know how it feels, I'm somewhere around nr. 89 on the Monza chart
:)))
But don't be disappointed if you're being dropped to a lower spot very
fast... I once posted a Monza lap, I got the 54 position, and after a
week or 2 I was somewhere in the 80's region...

His time is 3:19.07, a very decent time for Spa, and still only the
78th place :)
The 100th place on Schubi's list is 3:21.34, so if you can beat that
you too can be one of the famous GPL drivers :)

Geez, I'm only about 16 seconds off the record, and 7 seconds off the board.
If I practice REAL hard, I might make the board in...another lifetime?

Things seem to have settled down a bit at Spa, though. Firstly, all the
top drivers are above me anyway, and you can only have one lap per
driver on the board. Secondly, quite a few drivers are doing the N3
tracks at the moment, so there's less competition. Thirdly, I think I
could pull another half-second out in extremis (which would put me up
to number 73).

Huh?!?  Oh, you mean the NEW tracks, that still have 40-odd(or more) spots
left???<g>  I figure as long as there's ROOM, I'll send in a time.  On most of
the ones that are full, though, 100th place is as much as 7-8 seconds off my
PB.  I'll *never* get there - I just have to admit and accept that...
