ICR2 in the 216 area code

I live in the cleveland 216 area code.  I would like to start a mini

ladder of at least 5 people for 1 v 1 modem racing.  E-MAIL me if U are

intrested.  These are the settings that I use, I would probably be

willing to use different settings but I like these.

Race Length 10%

AI 102%

Dammage arcade

yellows off

version 1.2  (I have rendition)

random breakdowns off

2 laps for qualifying on road courses

Don't let the 102% scare you, on 10% race U can start with a much less

than full tank so it makes up the diff.  This way U can't run the pole

unless U are really fast.  It's more fun to start from the middle and

pass than start at the front and try to defend your position.  With

these settings you don't have to worry about lap traffic causing

accidents, IMO the worst part about longer races.  Also, 10% is so much

less of a time investment.  If an AI car hits me off the road 1/2 way

through a 10% race, so what?  only 5 min lost.  But crashing out 1/2 way

through a 100% race is one full hour into the can.  This becomes even

more important im multi player races where the chance of something going

wrong is X2 because of 2 players and other possible peoblems due to

connections.

You really should have a second phone line, it makes the trickey job of

connecting much easier if we can talk.  Also, only one phone line means

we are racing.

Concerning FPS: I'm real pickey here.  any less than an absolute minium

of 25 is not acceptable to me.  Remember, you loose about 5 fps due to

connection.  So I hope you either have a strong comp or a rendition card

or are willing to turn lots of stuff off.

I am particulary intrested in Art Jones and Art Axelrad, I saw you guys

on the IVGA ICR2 bord (U guys might have to go easy on me!).  Other

cleveland people on IVGA but not on the ICR2 part are Mike Irwin, Mike

Neubauer, Michael Riley, and Ralph Ziehdorn.

These are just some general thoughts.  I guess I wouldn't have a

problem with 50% or so race lengths.  E-MAIL me and I can tell you if

anyone else has responded and we can try to set something up.

P.S. I'm going to post this message once a week for at least a month so

occasional RAS'ers will see it.

P.P.S. we already have 2 players including myself and one other, so if
you
join we will have something good going
