HI Kids,

Please excuse me if this has already been addressed, but I saw an
article about online racing in a recent issue of Automobile Magazine that
even mentions r.a.s. and thought I might scan it and make it available for
readers of this NG who missed it.  I posted it here:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

To get to the next page, just click anywhere on the page you are
reading. The sidebars are on page 3.   You should be able to see it on a

than nothing.

It's good, except they mentioned that some title by, let's call them "U",
was considered better than Gp2 and something about GPL.  Im impressed, the
more articles like that the better.  Nice summary of the whole community,
the good and weakness of racing simulation and history (except on Hawaii it
was 32+ not 20drivers maximum at the end).

Thanks for the post.. to bad NROS is now defunct which kind of leads one to look
upon this article as dated.

One must remember that the article wasn't directed towards people who race
online, it was written for people who have no idea what online racing is
about, so the fine points are not terribly important.

Once I had this up, I decided to send it to some family and friends who have
always wondered what I was crowing about.  Already, several have called me
wanting more info about it!

Seems the article does its job OK for the uninformed.  They were the target,
anyway.

It is dated, as are all monthly mags. Figure on a 2 month lead time
between when it's written and in your hands, at least.
Usually it's over 2 months.
It's a lot different than here, where stuff is posted minutes after
release.

I didn't think of doing that.  Now that you've mentioned it, I can't
find the link anymore.
