X-plane....X-car????

I came across a game called X-plane. Its basicallya flight sim with VERY
open architecture,so that everyone can modify and changeit as they wish. It
has a physics engine that will allow a huge variety of planes etc to work.
Now, I'm no flight simfan, I love keeping my wheels on the ground. THe point
is, though, I would LOVE an X-car. A damn good physics engine that allows us
to do what we want to it. If Flight Sim 2000 for Microsft allows uses to
change, add, create new things, why oh why can't someone release something
similar for us racing fans?

There was game called X-Car from Bethesda that was very similar to what you
described. If was very open ended and allowed you unprecedented set-up
options. Unfortunately the sim community never really got behind this one.

Also there was supposed to be a PC\Sega CD game that let you build a model
car from scratch that would then become a real car and then you drive across
rather county trying to make it to races on time while avoiding the police.
I ordered this game from EB, but then the gat got canned and I got some
other game something about aliens invading Texas.
