Can someone help me with the "presidents run" level in Driver ? The cops are
completely nuts on that level. My car is wrecked before I get halfway...
This is on playstation m talking about...

I tried that level many times without using cheats and it was
absolutely impossible.

Then when I used invulnerability, it was still extremely hard. The
impact of those black cars were flipping my car on a regular basis.

I found it to be a big let down to have to resort to using cheats to
complete the level, but the insane volume of chasers and the speed
those black cars get up to, unless there's some way to sneak to the
objective without being seen, a car chase will inevitably end up with
you plastered all over the street.

You're doing well by getting half way!

Cheers,
Rod.

Practice, it can be done. I haven't but a friend mine has, I saw it and he
did it without using cheats.

I think I have tried 100 times, the closest Ive gotten is two blocks from
the finish...  So i used the invincible cheat, it was actually difficult
with that cheat because they always flipped my car over... ;p

I really like this game but I cannot start the undercover stuff because
I am missing half the keys required to pass the driving test... I
suppose I could use the keyboard, but I want to use my saitek r4 FF.
Once you choose joystick/wheel, the keyboard ceases to work
completely... So you must try to to remap some keys (like the 360 or
or the view keys), but there are more keys than buttons (designed for 8
buttons), so I end up having 2 things mapped to a button, and then you
can never leave that menu (the horn honks and there is no way out)...
That sucks, I'd much rather use the wheel than the keyb.  Anyone got a
fix for this ?

A few times I have been pushed - and got stuck - outside the scenery by
the cops, that's also bad but not too buggy so far... That means I am
stuck with the driving games for now (patch?) but even just those are
worth the money !  Great stuff...

This function-mapping thing was a bug in the demo that I heard was going to
be fixed in the real game, but as you've found out, no such luck. I've sent
an email to GT's support and if I har anything I'll pass it along.

As far as passing the driving test, the only functions you need to make sure
are mapped to your wheel's buttons are the "burn out" and "handbrake".

> There is a fix for the problems you gripe about. (I have the same

complaint....when you choose joystick, you can't map the keyboard to do
anything.) To get rid of your "double mapping", choose the item that
you don't want to be mapped to that button anymore, then hit return to
highlight it, then spacebar. Spacebar will demap it, so it is not used
in the game. There are certain functions you need, so demap the ones
that are not neccesary. I am using the Logitech FF wheel, and since the
cars all seem to be automatic shifting, have mapped the shifter to do
certain functions, and my buttons for others, giving me a total of six
to choose from. Here are the ones I've chosen to map: Burnout,
Handbrake, Lookleft,Lookright,  Horn, and Changeview. With these I've
managed to pass the driving test, and they seem to be all you need.
Hope this helps and good luck!

On the PC...
It took a lot of tries, but I finally made it.  I find the only way was
to just keave foot to the petal and drive straight down the first
highway, praying that when I have to make that one turn I don't have
half a dozen cops on my tail.   Turning in the limo sucks.
