Q : 1.5 Where can I get this game in the United States?
=======================================================
Being in the UK, it is hard for me to keep track of the availability
of TOCA in the US. It is not on general release for PC, only import
copies are available (June 98). An NTSC PlayStation version looks
unlikely to ever be released.
From various emails I have heard that the following places stock TOCA
PC.
http://www.interactcd.com, in Pasadena, CA.
Some Electronics Boutiques stock import copies of TOCA, but not all.
**If anyone from North America knows of a TOCA stockist, please send
email to (j...@dial.pipex.com) so that I can add them to the list.

=============================
Yes, there are several cheats for TOCA. The cheats are valid for both
PC And
PlayStation versions.
To activate the cheats: before you start a race enter your name as one
of
the following. If you are successful you will hear Tiff Needel say
"Cheat

cheat
off, enter the cheat code again.

Q : 2.2 Are there any patches?==============================
Codemasters released a patch to version 1.1 in early 1998. It fixes a
joystick problem and gives improved network play.
There are two versions, depending which language you use. Get it from
:
http://www.codemasters.com/touringcar/patch.htm

Q : 2.3 Can I edit the TOCA carsets, or obtain new ones?
========================================================
None are available and, due to the way TOCA installs, it would be
impossible
to use different carsets.

Q : 2.4 How can I install and use TOCA 'ghost laps' I have downloaded?
======================================================================
Copy the *.lap file(s) from the archive downloaded to your
c:\toca\ttsaves
directory (c:\toca\ ,or wherever TOCA is installed).
It is a good idea to back up your existing files if you want to keep
them.
Start a Time Trial in TOCA, select the track or tracks which you
replaced.
Make sure that "Load Best Lap" is set to YES, then prepare to race
against
some of the fastest TOCA drivers in the world.
'Ghost Laps' may be downloaded from :
TOCA : A Player Guide - http://ds.dial.pipex.cm/jmhnet/toca/

Q : 2.5 I have heard about 'Bi-linear' filtering in TOCA, what does
that
    mean and how can I use it?
======================================================================
From a Codemasters employee posting to USENET : rec.autos.simulators
If you want to see Bi-Linear filtered cars with TOCA then try this -
(You must have the v1.1 patch, this will not work with the demo).
Run TOCA from the command line line using :
TOURCARS (install dir) (cd drive) (3d choice) BILINEAR_CARSUSAGE:
(install dir) = directory TOCA is installed to.
   (cd drive) = identifier of CD drive
  (3d choice) = 3D Acceleration method chosen when TOCA first
launches:
                for AUTO DETECT use : 0
                for SOFTWARE RENDERING use : 1
                for S3 CHIPSET use : 2                for ATI RAGE II
use : 3
                for nVidia RIVA 128 : 4
Eg : If I had TOCA installed at d:\TOCA and a CD drive on e: and I use
an S3
chipset, I would type : TOURCARS d:\toca e: 2 BILINEAR_CARS

Q : 2.6 Will TOCA run under Windows
98?=======================================
Thanks to Chris Glenton
"TOCA doesn't work with Windows98 but there *is* a way to get it
going.
Get Norton CrashGuard 3.0. This intercepts the kernel32.dll error when
the track-loading section starts, and fixes the prob. The game still
crashes sometimes, but you'll always get to the save championship
screen
after each pair of races."
